Fresubin® 5 kcal Shot is a very high-caloric (5 kcal/mL) oral nutritional supplement presented as a low-volume fat emulsion. It is primarily fat-based and contains both long-chain triglycerides (LCT) and medium-chain triglycerides (MCT).
The formulation contains 13,9 g MCT per 100 mL and provides 500 kcal per 100 mL. It also contains Vitamin E and Vitamin K1. The product is lactose-free and gluten-free.
This supplement is suited for individuals with chronic catabolic diseases such as cancer, renal or liver disease, and for those with low volume tolerance. It is provided in a convenient 120 mL bottle with a neutral flavour.
